The reason I tell stories has been somewhat elusive until recently. I never gave it much thought because I considered the answer obvious: movies are cool - I suppose that’s enough of a reason to do most things. But asking “why” movies are cool seemed unimportant, or too daunting to answer. Now, after returning to school and investing my mind and body into the confusing, time-consuming, agonizing, yet ineffably fulfilling, pursuit of art, I have found the confidence to answer that question.
The stories that film can tell reveal to us that we simply belong.
Sharing stories helps us connect and create bonds with each other, fostering a sense of empathy and belonging. I believe this is the most vital aspect of our social existence.
